The reign of smartphone market globally has led to the evolution of huge list of smartphones and smartphone makers in the recent years. The penetration of Chinese brands into the smartphone zone is quite remarkable. The USP (Unique Selling Preposition) of these Chinese brands is the cheaper price tag. UMI is one of the brands which comes into conversation here.

X2 which is expected to be out on 15th May has been the best device from its manufacturer until now. With some “beyond-the-line” specs and “under-the-line” price, it has created itself a huge anticipation among the tech geeks and also in the common users. UMI X2 is priced around $260.

Let’s just see the main specs of the device:
• Operating system: Android 4.2.1
• Phone Size: 141mm (length), 70mm (width), 8.9mm (thickness)
• CPU model: MT6589 Quad-core 1.2GHz
• GPU: SGX544
• Memory: 32GB ROM + 2GB RAM
• Extended Storage Capacity: Support maximum 64GB MicroSD card
• Camera: Rear : 13 MP, Front: 2 MP
• Battery: 2500mAh replaceable

In short, UMI X2 is a 5 inch quad-core, full HD device with 13mp camera.

With almost Samsung Galaxy S IV features and at a less half of the price of it, UMI really is into huge demand. UMI X2 poses a serious threat to global brands like Samsung, Apple & Nokia with the surprising price tag that’s actually more affordable relative to the global giants.

With the help of social media Chinese brands are slowly penetrating into the people and building up their own base of leads or potential customers. With almost 12500 pre-order confirmations in India, I guess UMI has become the most anticipated smartphone for last two months.

I personally loved the slim design, the huge real estate of 5inch at full HD and an energetic 2GB RAM.

The main disadvantage of these Chinese brands is after-sale service. It needs more infrastructure and other resources to be set-up in order to start service, which seems to be a heftier task for the companies than selling the smartphones at these price tags.So I guess they give assurance for after-sales service by outsourcing or setting up their own centers. Whatever, thanks for the competition is making the gadgets cheaper for the user.

What do you think? Can these brands stand stable in market? Please comment below to fuel the topic. Thank you.
